There are several radio programs that regularly feature Scandinavian folk music. The programs listed are available over the Internet– whether streaming live or web-based stations.

NRK Folkemusikk Web Radio

This station is all folk music, 24 hours a day! Their playlist is usually Norwegian, but every once in awhile you’ll hear the familiar tone of a nyckelharpa. Very fun to listen to!

Nordic Roots and Branches

Karen Pauley hosts a weekly program dedicated to Nordic folk music. She mixes live interviews with a great selection of authentic recorded music. The program airs every Tuesday at 8:30pm (pacific time). If you’re in the Seattle area, you can listen on the radio dial at 90.7fm. It also streams LIVE on the internet at the url listed above. (No online archive as of yet).
